So you basically want either an oober title, or an oober weapon to say...

"I completed the game, and Im great, look at me. Woooo" *in deep voice*

...well....

...how about instead of just finishing ONE game and getting ONE complete title and then winginging, instead you go out and work for more titles.

Then once youve actually put some effort in, and completed all 3 games with "PO.." and "Grandmaster explorer" you can have the "Kind of a big deal" title which I achieved last week.

Something you get with 5 full titles and took me over a year to do; Then you can be as smug as you like.

Because trust me; No low level character is going to have that one.

Would that make you feel satisfied? Because spending a year trying to get the KOABD title felt rewarding to me once I got it.

If you want stuff that no low lvl player can have, then go out and earn harder titles. Simple.

Prophy was a bit anticlimactic, but it was nice to be able to say "I beat the main storyline", then, lo and behold Anet releases the Titan missions, and Sorrows Furnace, a load of free new material for people who owned Prophy.

Nightfall concludes the first three games story arc, so if you want to feel closure I suggest you pick it up and play it to the end, you can have another shiny title and you'll actually get to pick an endgame green weapon. Prophy didn't have greens until SF, so there was no concept of an endgame greenie.

Also, the end of the Prophy storyline was not the end of GW, I even remember believing up until I found out why he had Rurik's helm on, that the Lich was an undead Rurik

After prophecies storyline was finished, there was a plethora of extra stuff still to be done. All the areas between Kryta and HoD have yet to be travelled and not forgetting The Wilds etc etc.

Titan quests and then Sorrows Furnace. Also to be honest, getting an 'endgame' green kinda breaks the story a little. The reason you are supposed to complete the storyline is that you can save the world, not for some Green Weapon.

Having said that, the perfect weapon you get at the end is pretty worthless as a rare anyway, since you gain it at the end of the storyline, the majority of players will have access to it.

Ok...I thought I would jump in here and give my $0.02. I have completed all 3 GW titles and have Protector of Tyria and Cantha and not to far away from getting Elona. When I finished Prophecies way back in the day, I wasn't disappointed that I didn't get any in-game reward like I did in Factions and in Nightfall. If you have noticed the end-game greens in Factions and Nightfall, they aren't anything worth writing to Grandma about. For the most part, they can all be crafted and some aren't any better than any of the other greens that you can find wherever else. I really enjoyed the storylines from Prophecies and Nightfall, and after Nightfall....I think I enjoyed the Faction storyline a little bit better. Whether I got a "woopde doo" green at the end..I could care less. You should take some self-pride. You are right that there are those stupid afk people that end up getting the title, but that doesn't make them a better player. Just be grateful that you accomplished something for yourself, rather than wanting something in return. There are plenty of greens out there, if you are so distraut about not getting a green.....go to SF (if you only have Prophecies).

The game still is as it was, except for so many changes that I thought the game would surely go under.

Well, I'm still here and so are many Beta players, and new people play every day.

FWIW, PvE in Phrohecies was only to gain unlocks for skills. PvE in Factions was better and I'm just meandering into NIghtfall, but it seems fairly good too.

Are you kidding me? This means you've never even done the entire storyline the right way, as Kryta and the Maguuma Jungle are there 3th and 4th regions you enter, after Ascalon and the Northern Shiverpeaks.

And I guess you are right, but you can't blame ANet for not having great ideas on there first game, to me Prophecies is, and will always be, the best chapter.

Is it just me, or does that not make any sense at all?

They didn't have great ideas, but I like it the most...

I personally think that they had a lot of good ideas with their first game, the ability to play online with hundreds of thousands of other players on at any given moment without a monthly fee, the entire HA and GVG concepts, and quite a few more... Although I think that Maxiemonster knows this, and just used odd wording.

In case you haven't noticed, GW isn't about loot. An upgraded collector sword is equivalent to a gold or green. Unless you're wanting a free set of Fissure armor or something I don't see the point of end-game rewards - not that I'm complaining about receiving them. Personally the satisfaction of "beating" the game works for me.

I still have my Amulet of the Mists sitting in storage from beating Factions. One of these days I need to trade it in for something.

Is that why you played the game? To get some pixelated reward? I play it because it's fun, and the weapon we get at the end is the the ice cream on the apple pie.

Fooey on you nay sayers.

and don't forget all the green drops you get in SF... ones you work hard for.

All I asked was why did they choose to not give a reward, and basically the result was "You suck". LOL I weep for the future..

To those that feel I am being unreasonable in expecting more, ask yourself this. Why are you so viamately defending a company that couldn't possibly care less if you stay or go, as long as you buy each chapter before you leave.

On that note, would a mod close this..(I know you won't, but what the heck..surest way to keep a thread open is to ask for it to be closed LOL)

I finished Tyria and was like "I worked all those hours for this?" Gw could at least give us a no trade item (profession specific) or something. The title is meaningless. At first I thought "Ok kewl I have POT, then saw a low level with it.. I was like "Nice, someone afked most of the damn game..."

I'm sorry I really feel let down. I don't even care if I finish the other chapters now.. Every day I try to find some positive aspects about GW, but to be honest, it's really poorly planned with regards to self promotion etc.. Beautiful artwork will only take you so far..

I went to hang with my guildies and they said "So, what did ya get,..?" I hesitated telling them, why ruin it. But then realized, why should they work hard only to be disppointed. So I told them "A title... that's all" They were not impressed to say the least.
You do get an end game reward it is called Surrow's Furnace and Grenths Footprint as well as the newly added ToPK.That is where you get your end game greens and IMHO they are far better than what is in Factions and NightFall.I don't think you are aware of this but Prophecies isn't fineshed with.

Wow, before the Factions release, there weren't that many "why no end game rewards?" threads like this one.. then, Factions and NF come out and set a precedent by giving Green items. What more do you want? Do you always expect something at the end? You just played the entire game. Even if you did, what could A.net possibly give you? Do we really need more greens circulating the market?
IMO, A.net is not lacking anything; the green items at the ends of Factions and NF are just something small to satisfy those who feel "incomplete." Those greens weren't necessary.
Prophecies was the first game. You can't expect perfection the first time. A.net took what was lacking in the first game, and added the missing elements into the next games. Oh, and I'm guessing your guildies are relatively new to GW.. if they didn't know what to expect.

Um.. pretty much every company doesn't care about its' players (as long as the players have purchased its game) unless there is a monthly subscription. There will always be a pool of players waiting to pick up the latest game.

On the other hand, I believe many people on these forums are asking waaaay too much from A.net. I stay away from Sardelac. In addition, I believe GW players are a bit spoiled. We ask for one thing, we eventually get it. When we don't get what we want, we whine about it. Go figure.

Bahaha, I was thinking the EXACT same thing.

I, personally, wasn't bashing you Enchanted. I just thought what you wanted didn't make sense as to why you wanted it and that you feel the PoT title was 'meaningless'

For the moment, yes it is. Unless they decide to go back with an expansion and add to Tyria, Tyria is done. The updates you listed happened before Factions release. There were the few greens added, but aside from bugfixes and that single update, Tyria has gotten nothing in over 6 months.

Just as a note, there will actually be added end game rewards for Nightfall in the future in the form of elite missions.

However, I'd love to have quests like the Titan quests.
